Lori Modde
Lori Modde brings more than 30 years of experience in community development, tourism, recreation and industry advocacy. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Outdoors NSW & ACT, Chair of Outdoor Council of Australia, Director of WSYD Moving, Director of Australian Regional Tourism and co-founder of the NSW Tourism Association.
Throughout her career, Lori has held leadership roles across the tourism, hospitality, government and not-for-profit sectors. She has served as Regional Marketing Manager for Tourism NSW (now Destination NSW), Community and Economic Development Manager in local government, Senior Manager of Place Activation and Strategy at Sydney Olympic Park Authority, and founder of Lorick Management, where she has led tourism and regional development initiatives throughout New South Wales.
As CEO of Outdoors NSW & ACT, Lori works to strengthen the outdoor sector by supporting organizations and professionals to build sustainable operations, expand participation in nature-based experiences, and promote the health and well-being benefits of spending time outdoors. She is a passionate advocate for accessible, high-quality outdoor experiences and collaborates with government, industry and community partners to advance opportunities across the sector.
An active volunteer, mentor and industry leader, Lori’s contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including being named a finalist for the 2025 Women in Travel Awards and Western Sydney Executive Woman of the Year in 2025 and 2022. She is also the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Contribution to Tourism in NSW Award and the 2020 AuSAE Association Influencer of the Year Award.
As a keynote speaker for the Adventure Safety Conference, Lori will share insights from her decades of experience in leadership, destination development and industry collaboration. Her perspective will provide valuable lessons for policymakers, regulators, program administrators and industry leaders working to enhance the safety, quality and long-term sustainability of adventure experiences.
